Shakespeare's Birthplace

Originally installed in 2000, this was the first example of real-time virtual reality ever being used specifically to enable disabled visitors to explore a heritage site. Although visitors with limited mobility can access the ground floor, the upper floor is not accessible. The “virtual experience” is provided on a touch-screen monitor on the ground floor and enables visitors to explore upstairs and access over 50 3D interactive objects.
